Updated Models
In 2016, we enjoyed some really fantastic leaps forward in the standard of 4K ultra high definition TVs. Sony was at the forefront of this, bringing us the brilliant X940D/x930D TVs, winning the red dot award for design.
For 2017, we can expect newer versions of some of their 2016 models, like the X940E and X930E with new features and higher specifications – higher levels of peak brightness, new backlight control technology and a cleaner design. The A1E
The A1E OLED 4K HDR TV is Sony’s first OLED TV. The technology used isn’t what some were expecting. LG sold their OLED technology to Sony, rather than Sony developing their own, however it does bring the features Sony fans love to the OLED market.
The acoustic surface feature brings you sound from the entire screen, not just the speakers, and in terms of contrast, over 8 million self-illuminating pixels are controlled by the X1 Extreme processor bringing amazing picture quality. It will support Dolby Vision high dynamic range standards and uses the pixel dimming precision that makes OLED TVs picture quality so good.
The Z series
Sony’s Z9D TVs were launched in late 2016 and these LED backlit TVs are some of the best LCD 4K HDRs available due to the huge amount of individual LED backlights. Sony describe the Z series as a leap forward, stating their knowledge of the film making process is the main driving force behind this new range, with accurate colour and backlight master drive bringing the display closer to what the creator intended you to see.
